THE TULSA VOLUNTEER CENTER recruits volunteers, channels them toward local agencies' programs which meet community needs, and offers community-wide recognition for their work. The Center also helps service organizations and corporations utilize volunteers effectively. In celebration of National Volunteer Week and the International Year of Volunteers, Tulsa area volunteers will be recognized at a luncheon on Thursday, April 26 at the Sheraton Tulsa Hotel. Featured speaker will be Robert Goodwin, CEO of the Points of Light Foundation in Washington DC. Through the generous support of Williams and PricewaterhouseCoopers, a total of $7,500 will be given to organizations nominating volunteers for outstanding service to the Tulsa area.
